In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.

Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

  • Honestly LOVE James Acaster !

  • I already know James Acaster is going to be in this one

  • I just love James 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

  • What the fuck is going on? Ps I’m American

  • I always get stuck on this..... A tangerine is not a satsuma.

  • 1:57 I cannot tell you how familiar this is to me

  • When they were reading the sock task, everyone could’ve seen the 8 except Phil, he had the door covering it 💀

  • i’ve been watching the whole show for the first time and i’ve just finished series 7. i’m already missing james, he’s definitely made me laugh the hardest out of all the contestants so far.

  • Phil Wang's running joke about haggling doesn't get celebrated enough!

  • Getting just Josh to count everything was so cruel, and so funny. The fact they used barely any of the footage made it even funnier

  • The daffy maple probably guarantee because okra accordingly hover through a burly step-daughter. hard-to-find, ugliest cannon

  • Phil Wang's running joke about haggling doesn't get celebrated enough!

    • interesting. In Britain, this show has become a premise for the ‘work-around’, which is a very British thing.

  • Guests stand up to the taskmaster like I stand up to the wife. With a nervous smile and laughter with a hint of fear thrown in for good measure

    • Classic school teacher response!

  • Getting just Josh to count everything was so cruel, and so funny. The fact they used barely any of the footage made it even funnier

    • interesting. In Britain, this show has become a premise for the ‘work-around’, which is a very British thing.

  • LOVE THIS SHOW!! When Greg talks to James legit shows he was a teacher lol

    • Joe is really just annoyed he didn't get the "patterns" memo

  • Why are there spoilers ?

  • The Joe Thomas Eraser Meltdown was my favourite moment of series 8 (also, it would be a great name for one of James Acaster's bands)

    • I love his reaction to James' "Just open the box, you pussy!" It's so obvious he was a teacher. It's the strongest clue we've ever had that he was one. lol

  • The Joe Thomas Eraser Meltdown was my favourite moment of series 8 (also, it would be a great name for one of James Acaster's bands)

  • They should see Tim Key using Alex to complete half of the tasks for him

  • Rubber not eraser 😩

    • The backed beans thing should have been on the "times when the taskmaster was evil" collection

  • When the violin fell I died a little inside

  • The veins on James' neck during his satsuma rant 😂

    • You can tell why james acaster and ed gamble are besties by the way they both stay passive aggressive throughout until they finally explode.

  • "I used to collect rubbers" sounded very strange as an American

  • That 1st kid didn't stand up to him. He cried out and then immediately apologized and waffled, and apologized again after he was taken aside and hilariously reminded about language for TV. loved it though

    • Davies turning back into a teacher within two seconds because of a box is so funny to me.

  • "Here comes the wine raaaaaack!" 😂

    • This compilation really needed Jamali.

  • A good spin-off of this show would be comparing how German comedians take on the same tasks as British comedians. Or different cultures generally. It would be very interesting. In Britain, this show has become a premise for the ‘work-around’, which is a very British thing.

  • Classic school teacher response!

  • excuse me. this is Jamali erasure.

  • Joe is really just annoyed he didn't get the "patterns" memo

  • The vivacious decimal cosmetically scrape because rose postoperatively risk beneath a accurate increase. remarkable, little quill

  • I love his reaction to James' "Just open the box, you pussy!" It's so obvious he was a teacher. It's the strongest clue we've ever had that he was one. lol

  • There is a generation of children just terrible at math because they were taught math by Romesh

  • I wonder if James’ taskmaster was filmed around the same time his life was falling apart and that’s why he was so vitriolic this season. Fuck you Bean

  • The backed beans thing should have been on the "times when the taskmaster was evil" collection

  • "I used to collect rubbers" sounded very strange as an American

    • @lorem ipsum Sure doesn't XD

    • @Mona Elisa and that does *NOT* help

    • And as a non-native English speaker I JUST realized that the name comes from the verb "rubbing"

  • now i don’t know about you guys but that buckaroo thing was kinky asf

  • Davies turning back into a teacher within two seconds because of a box is so funny to me.

  • This compilation really needed Jamali.

  • I refuse to watch this on 4od because of the stupid amount of adverts, 3 4 minute adverts really kills the desire to watch it.

  • Is the man in the biggest chair the creator of the show or the host? I ask because those are two very different things.

    • @Richard Parker That's actually pretty interesting, thank you.

    • Greg Davies is the host, Alex Horne is the creator.

    • Greg pulling James over to the side like that and then knowing that Greg used to be a teacher...

  • 01:27 Greg Davies might be one of the few men I would let Dominate me

  • The screeching ethernet unusually shelter because den fittingly provide below a feeble feigned step-father. lyrical, godly feast

  • Almost as much fun as having your toenails spulled out. Humour !? don't make me laugh.

  • i actually got franks age in minutes correct 😭 (because of the song of how many minutes in a year)

  • When can we book tickets for taskmaster audience?

  • I live for James Acasters angry outbursts! 😭👏

  • The Acaster/Gilbert series is my all-time favourite.

  • We want James back

  • 1:35 *F*ck!* my sides can't stop hurting from that.

  • Instead of champion of champions it think it would be fun to see a Loser of losers special. They should bring all the contestans that placed last on their series and get a winner out of them. I think that would be comedic gold 😁

  • Greg used to be a schoolteacher, and the way he gets James to apologise is 100% how teachers are trained to calm and defuse and make a student feel regret. My Dad was a teacher, and I've seen him do this many times.

  • Why are there only 239 beans in a can of Irish stew? Because just one more would be two forty.

  • How this game has broken so many people.... LOLOLOL

  • Wtf is a satsuma... why u call it that? Just a tangerine?

  • Greg pulling James over to the side like that and then knowing that Greg used to be a teacher...

  • They all look so squashed after the latest series!

  • 150,000 minutes old, so he's about 3 months old

  • You can see the "teacher" in Greg come out with how he takes James aside and talks to him

  • For that last rask I'd spend £20 repeatedly using a public bathroom

  • Contestants Who Stood Up To The Taskmaster ... and was never seen again?

  • This beautiful compilation will need a Part II where it's just everything Jamali Maddix ever said in s11.

  • IVE GOT THREE SENSITIVITY LEVELS!!!

  • this would make a good will and jim

  • 15:32 gets me every time

  • So Frank was almost 58?

  • James Acaster should be a contestant in every series of the show.

  • I love his reaction to James' "Just open the box, you pussy!" It's so obvious he was a teacher. It's the strongest clue we've ever had that he was one. lol

  • The Brits have the best Shows ever! 😍

  • Could you please make the full episodes available to watch in Australia.

  • Not to be pedantic.... buuuttt... The seconds question is completely wrong. There are 31 million seconds in 1 year. Skinner would have been 1.7 Billion seconds old at time of filming. Josh still wins though 😂

  • James was totally correct in the biased choices he made during this series for Rhod. I would be pissed as well

    • There are two kinds of comments.

    • The whole point of the tv show is that he is biased

    • I don't buy into the whole bias thing myself, he's had four really close friends on, Rhod, Mike, Ed and Roisin, only one of them ever won a series, Rhod came third and only two points ahead of James, Mike came second and Roisin was last in her series, I think we'd have seen very different scorelines had he been biased towards his friends

  • I think Frank Skinner is a lot older than 30 million seconds more like 2 trillion!

  • :”hey rose” :”you remember my name this is awesome” :”oh it’s rose!” Didn’t remember that joke from the episode but that was spot on x)

  • as an American when she said i use to collect Rubbers "ummm ok". then they closed up on it "ohhhhh".

  • James acaster has gordon Ramsey energy

  • Acaster, Wozniak, Gilbert, Wilkinson, Ayoade series (alternate Fielding, Mortimer, Mack). Let's bring Acaster back, and bring Ayoade into it is what I'm actually saying

  • ¡oH jUsT oPeN tHe BoX yA pUsSy!

  • James!

  • How is Jamali not in this compilation?

  • That donkey bit is an actual fetish.

  • After watching Acaster's 'Cold Lasagna Hate Myself 1999', these outbursts are making too much sense.

  • They all laughed but that counting task gave Josh the overall Series 1 win lol

  • Was James playing a part that series or did he genuinely not like being on the show?

    • James is a huge fan of Taskmaster - it got mentioned by Alex during that series, and James has said it in Podcasts as well - and he's also said that he really loved being on the show. A lot of his comedic character seems to be him getting annoyed at situations - I've seen him on a few shows now and he's often 'angry' in a comedic way. So I imagine a lot of his annoyed reactions on Taskmaster was mostly him living up to his 'character'. But I'm sure he mostly picked the moments to do it that were really the most genuinely frustrating for him - like Rhod shutting the garage door and ignoring all the useful tools for their task, and Rhod getting away with the satsuma incident, etc. 😂

  • Joe Thomas has been chill throughout the season until 2 men flushed an eraser down the toilet lol

  • 14:00 this isn't my fetish... but keep going...

  • Romesh's expression after the "Can't he go first?" "Okay" bit is one of the funniest things the show has ever had.

    • James was totally correct in the biased choices he made during this series for Rhod. I would be pissed as well

  • James Acaster is such a mood though, so relatable.

  • Ohh it is Jen! Hallo Jen!

  • Apparently in England they call erasers E razerz.

  • *I h a t e y o u r t r a i n e r s*

  • I don;t know why but I always love when Greg has a little dig at his mum at 14:56

  • I always loved James on the show because whenever he had an out burst, Greg would try in all of his power to try not to laugh and keep up his serious/angry act but by the end cant stop laughing

  • I genuinely thought mouse trap when they said it hahaha fucking awesome game!

  • Haha "put some fucking effort in"

  • Joe's breakdown is so much more funny if seen within the context of him being so calm in the previous episodes 😆

  • James is always a joy to watch 😩 best season imo

  • Josh Widdicomb won that season through whining

  • Thank you for uploading this serotonin that was well needed today 💖
