Doctor and Lawyer React To Grey’s Anatomy Malpractice Episode

Publisert 2. mai. 2021
Watch the second half of this episode review on Legal Eagle’s channel here: nolong.info/show/madrbKCtaKRnn5s/video.html
Legal Eagle and I went head to head last year to see which was harder, Med School or Law School. We decided to bury the hatchet this time and join our forces to react to the popular medical malpractice episode of Grey’s Anatomy, Season 10 Episode 9 “Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word”. I brought my medical knowledge about a surgery gone wrong for a snowboarder who loses his legs above the knee. Devin Stone brought his legal expertise to break down what was accurate and what was fake during the trial of Dr. Callie Torres.
I LOVE reading your comments and take your suggestions seriously. If there’s a subject you want me to discuss or something you’d like for me to react to, leave a comment down below. Many of my videos have been born out of suggestions directly from you, so don’t hold back!

  • 3 million out of 7 billion people supposedly died of the corona virus which means it is 0 percent. why is everyone waling around with masks? why are there ANY lock down? borders closed? people isolated, job losses?? the nazi world governments want to paralyze and kill us off through the lethal covid vaccine. many villages in India has been closed off by the nazi Indian government because 99 percent Indians REFUSED the covid vaccines.

  • More collaborations please!!!

  • It's called service of process not process of service

  • I cannot tell you how excited I got when I saw you did another greys review. Just put off driving home after work and sat in the parking lot to watch! Love this one so much!!!! Please do more greys reviews!! For so many people my age who went into medical fields, this show is what sparked our interest when we were little so watching you review these episodes is everything!!!

  • There was a surgical towel left in my Nana during surgery in the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. That “sponge” story hit home. 😢😭 (Early in 2000)

  • Some girl at my school watched this and was genuinely convinced she could do brain surgery

  • I love that you asked eachother questions!

  • Not me wanting to protect Callie from anything they're gonna say 😂

  • Nice collaboration!

  • No‘mirdi tashlag

  • Xello

  • Please do a sons of Anarchy on I’m Begging you

  • I hope we can see more episodes like this in the future!!

  • "Avengers Infinity War is one of the most ambitious cross overs" Doctor Mike: "Hold my scalpels"

  • When I got my tonsillectomy i only had to go back to the hospital 2 months later for a check to make sure the stitches had dissolved. do other surgical practices have checkups more often? also are there stronger and less strong painkillers prescribed to people after different surgeries

  • I love that you guys did this ep specifically because my grandfather had both legs amputated from arteriosclerosis.

  • Which episode… because there’s a lot where they practice malpractice😂

  • There's a combination of law and anatomy in "Bones" as well. Could you do a realism check on an episode of Bones sometime? That would be cool.

  • I can almost hear the ovaries popping

  • Im shipping them.

  • at this point just watch and react to the whole show 😭😭

  • that’s actually crazy you said that because I’m 22 when I was 12 I sheared most of my cartilage off from gymnastics I also tore my meniscus and ACL my cartilage has been growing for 10 years I’m getting a transplant next week! but I had no idea you could get arthritis from a injury like that I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis when I was 8.... my orthopedic surgeon said as far as knee surgeries go this is the worst you could have done

  • I thought that was Ryan Reynolds for a sec.

  • if you are comfortable with the idea can you do a video discussing the stigma around the reproductive system in women and masturabtion for women

  • They both have killer hair 🧑🏻

  • Two bros talkin' bout' law stuff, few feet apart cuz' they're good friends

  • In a court situation would patient privacy laws still be intact if so how could you state what happened?

  • Dr. Mike looked so guilty (pun intented) when @LegalEagle talked about contrast colored shirts and french cuffs because Dr. Mike enjoys those fashion choices and even have photos on Instagram and videos on his channel about dressing well. 😁😄😃 But he shouldnt because he only dresses fancy for events and special occasions and not for his profession. ❤❤❤

  • Hey Doctor Mike can you react to The Good Doctor 4x16? Would be interesting to see your opionion about it.

  • Ah, so they put a medical professional, and a joke in the same room. Hope you had a good time Mike.

  • Im ngl i think he should react to an episode from s17 cause of the covid storyline on this season and with season 18 coming soon idk how but it is but it would be cool to see him reacting to an episode during the covid situation although the entire season the main storyline is covid

  • I was really hoping "dispositive" was legalese for "negative" 😂😅

  • "you are supposed to dress nice for a jury" but a jury is supposed to be unbiased.

  • I wonder who’s richer?

  • As a digital artist, I have to say, psychology of color is a thing and colors absolutely do matter, just in a subtler way. We associate different colors with different ideas and feelings, and they can even evoke feelings in us, just by seeing them.

  • Doctor Mike and Judge Judy next

  • Not related to the video kinda, but blue scrubs really bring out your eyes

  • the thing is, they could've checked the other stuff offscreen

  • I like to picture that these two are just brothers that just went down different paths

  • Your lawyer friend is extremely attractive. Does it cost extra to have a good looking lawyer? A jury will gravitate to beauty like any other group of humans. So I’d assume lol

  • I wonder how hard it is to become a layer

  • I need more team ups!

  • for medical school I'm just going to watch you.

  • And the lawyers fix it

  • Some nerd: Infinity War is the best crossover in history Doctor Mike and Legal Eagle:

  • They are brothers, right?

  • We are all sinners and we cannot save ourselves! If a person gets to heaven because they kept the commandments or stopped sinning or got baptized, then that would mean that they were saved by their works. But we are not saved by our works! And if we are not saved by our works, then we cannot “stay” saved by them. We are saved by grace through faith! Salvation is a completely free gift! Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins, was buried in a tomb, and rose again on the third day. Should a person use this as a license to sin? No. Of course not. If a person uses this as a license to sin, are they still saved? Yes. Of course. If you believe that Jesus paid the price for your sins (past, present, and future), was buried and rose again on the third day, you are sealed until the day of redemption and you cannot lose your salvation no matter what! Our salvation is not based on how we live. Our rewards in heaven are based on how we live. OSAS.♥️

  • They talk about the 5 W’s in the first episode I think! And there’s also an episode where the guy is playing guitar during his brain surgery somewhere around season 12 I think😋

  • I’m very distracted by Dr. Mike’s watch. What kind of AP is that?

  • This was probably the most interesting video ive seen of yours in a long time. Not to down the others, theyre certainly good, but maybe its a mix of things I do know of, and things I dont, alongside some interest in both fields, and probably a good episode of Greys Anatomy too.

  • Gimme more of that collab, please! :-)

  • Your camera quality is always impressively clear lol

  • Is it just me or do they almost look the same

  • I'm literally not interested in med nor law, but I truly loved how they went deep through every detail, it's like I won't be willing to study any of these myself, but I'm completely into this episodes, the knowledge dropping!

  • I can’t watch this it’s too painful to follow...

  • As a straight man I cannot comprehend how beautiful dr Mike is

    • “His heart blew up”😂

  • 14:45, not an ambulance attended.

  • 12:16, ya Terry, what happened?

  • who can take a sunrise; sprinkle it with dew?

  • Hey mike I’m a kid that’s seeking advice from another doctor or lawyer I had a open heart surgery and they explained all the things that could happen like while I’m under stuff could happen also they took a vein out of my right arm to hook to my brain cause it helped my blood flow to my brain also said my right arm might not work again and all that well everything went good actually great but there’s one thing I can’t speak right after the surgery and they said I might not be able to talk right after the surgery and they never said any of this before just all the stuff like what could happen when I was under anesthesia or what and I’d just like some advice do u think that’s right could I sue them for messing up my voice or vocals or whatever’s wrong I’m just really sad and I can give u a lot more information about the surgery if u could like maybe talk to me and explain it to me I’m just really sad cause it’s a open heart surgery and how do u mess my voice up permantly 😓😓I really wish I could just talk to somone that knows or could help me out please reach out to me and if anyone sees my comment please help him get this messed I’d like to know more I have everything about my surgery on paper please please help me mike it would be appreciated so so much please and thank u 🙏

  • Do the shooter episode!!

  • remember when they sued the hospital into bankruptcy and then used the money they won in the lawsuit to buy it

  • You need to do crossover with Dr.Hope Sick the British doctor. 🙏

  • Seeing this lawer guy makes me respect the whole justice system even less. I didn't think that was even possible. Proves to me even more justice is a lie and a sham designed to see who is more persuasive.

  • This is a peak NOlong content: simultaneously both extremely entertaining and educational for both viewers and the creators themselves. This is what NOlong is made for!

  • My husbands uncle basically went through what the patient in this video went through but it wasn't for his leg it was his appendix. He almost died because of it. He refuses to go back to the hospital after that.

  • I loved this video!! Could you please consider doing a video on traumatic brain injuries (mild, moderate, and severe). I believe there should be more awareness on the long term effects of brain injuries, including concussions. Thank you!!!

  • please more reactions of this length!

  • just hilarious the comments from the lawyer XD

  • This was my favorite episode by far

  • “His heart blew up”😂

  • Do more of these joint reacts with legal eagle

  • Mike, you should do a reaction to Second Thoughts video on why america has the worst healthcare in the world, would be intressting to hear your thoughts as and actual doctor

  • The first person on the stands was the resident in the case, essentially the person that experienced it first hand and knew almost everything about the case and patient history, it would kinda make sense to have her on the stands

  • 0:35 EHHHHHHYYYYY NANI!!!!

  • The hair gel amount is surreal🤣

  • Would love to see Doctor Mike look at the Grey's anatomy episode(s) "The end of the world..." And "as we know it" Not necessarily the most interesting medically, but would be interesting to know what he thought about how the various people act and react in that situation. Realistic?

  • Day #1 of asking for a reaction on the movie “The Judge”

  • Love this collab

  • In the future, if you wanted to collab again, I have an show/episode suggestion for you. ER season 1 episode 20 “Love’s Labor Lost”. Dr. Greene takes on a high risk pregnancy/delivery where OB was nowhere to be found and the mother dies as a result. Based on subsequent episodes, it looks like Dr. Greene is the only one facing a malpractice suit, but I don’t think he is the only one responsible. Would love to hear your insight on this.

  • Even having had a major surgery I could tell they should have been checking more. And I had no complications

  • I want the Johnson and Johnson vaccine doctor

  • Now do the medical seen in a series of unfortunate events

  • THIS WAS SO GOOD!! KEEP THIS GOING!!

  • I’m an orthopaedic theatre nurse and i’m crediting this to my CPD points. Lol. But hold on...did they ever take out the sponge? Firstly, no joint surgeon will ever allow a sponge to be left inside the wound. Second, if a sponge cannot really be found, an xray is done prior to the transport or removal of patient from the OR. Res Ipsa loquitur.

  • Could we get Legal Eagle to collaborate with LockPickingLawyer next?

  • Here's an idea if you like epic music. 💡 You need to listen to Mötley Crüe! They are epic and they have the best drummer ever! HE CAN EVEN PLAY UPSIDE DOWN!!! Look up Kickstart My Heart, Dr. Feelgood, Home Sweet Home, Primal Scream, and Tommy's drum solos. You won't regret it!

  • The crossover we didn't know we needed

  • Just don't let them open me up for a cold.

  • I never noticed how... pronounced LE's nose was until now

  • "sweatier than a chiropractor in a medical malpractice lawsuit" -My fav quote ever, by medlife crisis

  • Speaking of the hairy hand lawsuit... there's a women who got pubic skin put on her face and now she had pubic hair on her face!!!!

  • You guys didn't pay attention well lol he wasn't ever sent home. And she checked on him multiple times it was a week later he had the fever 😂

  • CROSSOVER OF THE CENTURY

  • I really enjoyed this collaboration. would love to see more of these videos. The 2 of my favorite professionals. Watching a video about a legal medical case. Albeit, television program. Hearing each of you discussing the actual facts. From each profession. Is very informative. As well as entertaining.

  • This whole episode is just: Mike: _cringe_ wHY AREN’T YOU CHECKING ON HIM?!?!? LegalEagle: you know what you might as well just sell the hospital.

    • Kinda fascinating, the difference between the feeling of personal responsibility for the situation vs reaping the benefits of the situation

  • This was cool to watch

  • I had a Le Forte 1 surgery on both my upper and lower jaw and afterwards coming out of anesthesia I had a fever but was kept in recovery for probably around 6 hours to ensure that it was from the medication and not any other serious issue. I then stayed in the hospital overnight whilst being checked on by nurses every 3 hours including vitals and the surgical site. (Not very pleasant at 2 in the morning 😂) the surgeon himself saw me nearly 1 hour after I came out of the anesthesia to check on me post procedure then again the following morning. I then had a 1 week post op appointment after discharge then another 3 weeks after that one. Tv shows 100% do not adequately demonstrate what a real surgery is like.
