  • Woohoo!! What a relief to finally announce our new boat. Thank you for being so patient and thanks to our patrons for keeping this a secret. You did well! If you'd like to chat with us to discuss the new boat in more detail, we're going to go live on Patreon later this week. We'd love to see you there

    • @Robyn Anderson I completely agree. A racing boat restrict weight so they will be restricted on what they carry.

    • @Belle Rubin yes I saw that on the one model.. but basically it is just a single hull with pontoons.. that's not a true trimaran (3 full hulls)

    • @Turbo Tastic they fold in

    • @Kris Herzog Bodyguard Group of Beverly Hills Sounds like most of California, maybe except the inland.

    • @Jim Bim He is a body guard> Not surprised he would label everywhere unsafe so his services maybe needed. He

  • Sorry, but that's Not a practical boat for a family or four.

  • I wonder how Riley managed to sell this as a boat suited for a family with young children. Was the initial pitch an ocean racer with hydrofoils and then this is the "compromise" suggestion? 😂 I'm well aware of his "Speed is everything" motto and how he rather would stop sailing than being seen on a Leopard but this seems fairly extreme. On that "Speed, comfort and price" triangle of yours this seems like putting everything on speed. Surely there's more to life than speed. And yes, you tell yourself that "Speed is the only thing that keeps you safe" but isn't that really an excuse? At the end of the day you want to sail fast because it's exciting. Then you reverse-engineer the reasons to justify it.

  • This feels like the beginning of the end. Maybe you sail this a year before buying a permanent home, yeah? Because this is not the kind of boat you buy to raise a family on. And you're smart enough to know that so I'm just assuming there's a plan behind this... Eh. Let's say an unexpected purchase.

  • This thing sort of looks like the Battlestar Galactica. There, I’ve nicknamed it….

  • The negative commenters prefer row boats

  • What will the New name for the boat?

  • Dont need 2 engines right? Definite benefit there., single enjin.

  • Congratulations to you on your new boat! I'm confident in your choice and impressed how much people in the comment section care and put thought in your choices. Some might sound critical but where I come from people criticize when they really care and want to help to better. It's its own (though potentially harsh) form of affection. So please don't let it dim your happiness it is great thing that people care about you

  • Sounds fab, good luck with next adventure! Only thing I’d chuck in is, how will Black interior work with your videos? I’ve no video experience, but with your style of videos etc, could see you struggling with a black interior boat. Even in Rapido’s video, the interior is dark, and that’s with a white interior. Just thinking you might end up needing reflectors and lights for some “shots” that are currently totally natural (due to white interior on old boat). Nowt to do with boat life, but as videos and NOlong are a massive part of your life, maybe food for thought.

  • Shame this couple gets less and less relatable. Go from a boat in Vaga 1 that many could realistically aspire to having, to a millionaires' Cat that few people could contemplate buying and now this thing. Blah.

  • This. This is not going to go well. But judging from the comments, you will never be able to claim you weren’t warned.

  • How to put this in a way that doesn't sound disrespectful... This feels like a midlife-crisis purchase. You're having a second child. Life is changing rapidly. Feeling old. So you go out and buy a big fast expensive sport car to tell yourself that you're still young. 😓 Maybe what you really needed was a family SUV though.

  • 8:38 => "...because in the other one will constantly be a Corona Extra" 😄

  • 3.15 - go faster taps 😎

  • Is this for coastal cruising?

  • That violele solo. 😂

  • Riles, Alena, I couldn't be more happy for you. looking forward to the 1st shakdown and seeing the big smile on Riley's face when the boat clocks 20knt in 16knt wind.

  • Been watching you since day one, anyway here’s my opinion on new boat even if you don’t want to hear it. It will be an exciting yacht to sail, but that’s about the only benefit I can see, tell me if I’m wrong. There’s to many downsides, amount of room for 60’, manoeuvrability, beam, helm position, but I’ll keep an open mind and watch with interest. Love the idea of elec propulsion but that would’ve been easier on a 55 cat as to solar capacity. Anyway always love your channel.

  • What's with all these salty comments? I'm happy for you guys, that looks like a really nice boat. Looking forward to it!

    • I don't know about "salty". Clearly people have grown to care about this family over the years so when they do something that's perceived as a mistake people express concerns. Like if your neighbors sold their Volvo to buy a Ferrari instead and said "Our life will be so much better now, imagine how fast we can get the kids to soccer practice". You'd smile nervously while knowing this isn't going to end well...

  • I really don't understand the decision here. Firstly. On a catamaran the living quarters are separated by a lockable living area. If Lenny needs you or gets up for any reason you know he is safe. On the new boat his sleeping area is separated by an open deck area. What are you going to do?? Lock him into that room while your sleeping?? Ok you may use a telecom system but when a kid is freaking out they can forget things like press this button to call Mum or Dad. Second. The reason to get the catamaran was to make life on boards easier and stop having a boat that is healed over to work in. I'm pretty sure (and yes I know the shot is of the boat at speed) that any kind of sailing will have the trimaran healed over. Look at 5:05 for instance your not going to be comfortably working on a laptop while having a coffee or plate of food out. It's your life and story to tell but I think this is going to be a huge problem going forward. Couldn't you have gotten this from a larger catamaran?? Surely a catamaran can be built to be solo sailed, I'm guessing it's just a matter of having enough electric winches for sheets?? This is a big outlay and you guys need to be the ones living on it, who cares about what we the public want to watch. Your story is what we are interested in not the type of boat it is filmed on.

  • Nice for you, Wyatt Earp !! (big fan)

  • Taking the channel to the next level!!! awesome cannot wait!!! well done guys

  • The negative comments on here are absolutely ridiculous and I bet most are from idiots who've never sailed a proper trimaran (not a three hull block of flats like the Neel) this thing is actually safer than a cat, it's based on Ian Farrier's designs which are now Corsair, it would have similar inside space to a 40' mono just in a different layout.. the old single hull diehards don't like cats and now neither like tri's which is typical... but I don't know anything, I only sail an F9 trimaran that's modded to 32' that will do 25 knots fairly easily and has accidentally seen over 30 knots and fly the center hull though neither is recommended... just because it can doesn't mean you should: 25 knots is pretty normal for this design when over 30' it's much the same as 8 knots in a monohull... lets bag them out for buying something like Jaguar used to say "Space, Grace and Pace" instead of a larger floating block of flats, if a 60' Rapido isn't big enough for four people I'd hate to see you in a holiday cabin or motel room.

    • A 40’ mono is considered more than large enough for a family of four to permanently live on, add this couple aren’t huge people so why is a boat with a hell of a lot more living area considered unsuitable? If you think so then you’d go insane spending a night in a motel room: how much room do you need?... it’s like insulting a single person for selling their Rolls to buy a Ferrari. Why buy another block of flats with a mast when you can buy something with more than enough room that’s capable of better than triple the speed and will be a hell of lot more fun as well as safer... not to mention, these tri’s will sail in next to no wind at all. You think they should’ve gone with a larger cat? Why? Sailing is fun, sailing fast is even more fun, just because you have kids doesn’t mean the fun stops... I bet most if not all making the negative remarks have never even sailed a trimaran, if they sail at all they probably race and get their butts handed to them by tri’s all the time... Idiot.

    • And just like this trimaran small motel rooms are not designed to be a permanent living situation for a family of 4. I love how you call everyone else "idiots" while making the most moronic comparisons yourself...

  • Amazing news can’t wait to see the new member and the new boat but what about in winter months in snow places as you can’t really close off the kitchen and seating area from the elements

  • 17:10 great idea, you want to take a boat that was built on the very edge of a strength/weight tradeoff and remove the longitudinal support of the roof..... i think there is some things WE know that you dont. its called engineering.

  • its about attention. nothing else. they have become americans....

  • I like the new yacht I am 81 and sold my yacht 18 month ago I wish I was still sailing so you keep it up and I wish you all the best for the coming years Terry Brown Melbourne Vic Aus.

  • Congratulations. You surely earned it. You can definitely sail it. And the fun and adventure is just beginning again!!!!!!!!

  • His haircut reminds me of Jeff Daniels in Dumb and Dumber.

  • living the absolute dream.

  • No one really knows what works for your family but you. I like the idea of you helping in the build. Looking forward to see you in the future.

  • Next boat after this will probably be an AC75......

  • I like the old one better 😬😬

  • Very interested that you'll be going with an electric motor. How are you planning to charge it. I don't see any panels on that boat, or a wind generator. Perhaps there is a regenerative prop??

  • I’m honestly glad to see you go trimaran. Stability alone, with 2 kids? Excellent choice!

  • Hey baby Darwin!

  • Its a 60ft monster must be hard to dock looks great though.

  • I would have thought size would have been a major determination with a new mate soon to join.

  • My guess is they will be home based out of WA while doing day sails and races with the tri-cat. Because living full time in that with 2 baby boys who need space to run and jump and play would be hell on earth.

  • Riley, please get a new hair style. It looks like you cut it yourself, or worst than that your crazy wife cut it! Bad Style all around.

  • Off topic but I love that grey sweater you are wearing.

  • You guys get this one free too?

  • All the negs forget about the fact that you can sail this as a single person, Elayna can focus on the kids which is a huge safety factor. Who needs space with a 360 view, they don’t live in an enclosed apartment!!!

  • 6 years later, welcome to the quad

  • La Vagabonde 4 is going to be epic. 2024?

  • $1.4M toy for the husband and father of two?

  • found!"

  • Will it be delivered with foils ??? :)

  • 0:36 what movie was that ?

  • So exciting!! This may be a stupid question but - will the black interior not make it uncomfortably hot??

  • First I want to greet you and wish you all the best in your life, but also to say my opinion about buying a new sailing boat RAPIDO, I think you are very wrong that you decided this, I at my age and my life experience claim that you will be third day regret that you are switching to that sailboat, if it is not too late I would give you advice to cancel the sailboat you have better than it you will not find in that category and in the comfort you now have. you will have a huge problem. Keep what you have now, best regards

  • Onward and Upward .

  • Monohull -> Catamaran->Trimaran... can't wait for 7 to 10 years time when you build a Quadmaran 🤣 Good look with it, sounds like a cool boat!

  • youre doing it backwards! now that you have two young kids you're spending time building a boat? A new boat that is too small for a family? makes no sense. cats are great for young kids, catamarans outrun weather too.

  • Will you have a door in the middle to close in case of a rain storm or blowing rain and to lock for safety when your off the boat?

  • Guys I live in Dulwich been following you for 6 years would love to buy you a coffee. Ken Bruce

  • I really have no business commenting since I have no knowledge of any of this. BUT it's the internet, since when does experience matter on here!!?? My comment: Small living space vs growing family. Ouch.

  • Haven't tuned into you two for over a year... Holey shit both your haircuts are horrendously terrible... Lose the bangs... BOTH OF YOU.... 😱 WOW..!!!! Apparently NO mirrors on the boat...WOW..

  • Free Riley!

  • Sailing around Asia! Can't wait to see your journey around Lesser Sunda Island, Moluccas, Raja Ampat etc.

  • Pickle fork

  • I love how Rapido offers colorful wraps on the hull. Finally, some modern art

  • Congrats on the new boat!! I'm just wondering where Andre will be sleeping?

  • Miss YOUR programme

  • beautiful life good luck be safe

  • Hey look it's Hansel and Gretel

  • I feel this is a horrible decision... Why have less space when you have a bigger family? I dont understand

  • I'm no longer interested in this channel. Have fun on your ocean going tricycle. I will miss Lenny

  • Wow congratulations 🎉 you guys deserve it ☺️ love your channel !

  • Truly dedicated (and liberated!!!) sailors!! You four deserve the best of the best! Congrats! 👏💕

  • electric motors is the right thing. Just get a diesel generator to produce all the energy and heat you ever need, when the solar cells and batteries can t produce enough .

  • When did Lord Farquaad join the show?

  • Father of two, family of four would love to travel with you. Can this new boat fit eight?

  • 👍💞💞💝💞💞👍

  • What was that movie clip at 0:38?

  • Hmmmm remember when you did the episode of your family of 3 living in a confined small space with Lenny, you and Elania trying to squeeze thru the doorway... hmmmmm , now you’re getting smaller boat and adding another baby🤔...... kkkkkkkkk... hmmmmmmm.... for speed.... hmmmm...🤔🤔.....

  • I can’t tell you how many times I’ve refreshed they’re video page waiting for the video

  • I un subscribed because of the new little fast boat. Bring back the old boat.

  • Good now make with today's episode! Lolol. Eagerly anticipating

  • Well done for you both

  • I wondered if it might be a trimaran!! It's only marginally less room, just laid out differently, but the performance of those things is just ridiculous. Can't wait to see the episodes building your new boat. I assume the cat has sold, since we're getting vids of you all on the dry with a pool and a dog? Really excited for you, and for what's to come!

  • ⛵️ Who’s the homeless guy Elayna’s sitting next to all the time. He’s in those commercials too. Now, i’m no Don Won but I think he’s the reason Elayna’s stomach is bloated. 👀

  • Ignore the critical remarks do whats best for you!!

  • who is cutting your hair!?!

  • $1.4m and didn't come with a free haircut.....🤷🏻‍♂️

  • To see this boat compared to the first one you guys have come a crazy long way.

  • Very strange decision, goes against everything youve said in the last year or two about what you both want regarding the boat or the future. And speed really? Id never prioritize speed over space especially with two kids and a wife. You NEED space, for the sake of peace of mind and healthy relationship if nothing else. And talking about carbon fiber and whatnot on a FAMlLy boat. Man...youre not a teenager with a it hit vtech yo Civic or a competition class boat.

  • black carbon for walls, uh? - like, er, a 'Tales from the Crypt' vibe?

  • Sooooo happy for you guys!!

  • It would seem all the comments from the “non sailers” are just as practical and common sense as hard core sailers. Your fans care about you. It’s acceptable to change your mind, should you do so.

  • Being landlocked hur-ray faster internet speed...

  • Congrats! Any footage available of how the amas behave in rougher seas?

  • A 60 foot monohull with outriggers...I don't think people understand how big that is. And speed, safe speed, opens a lot of sailing windows making the hops from safe port to safe port easier. The safe, center cockpit design is very much a plus with young kids. I whole heartedly support this yacht purchase. Now, Pitter Patter!

  • I love this boat and given the right circumstances would definitely be lining up for one. Is it a good option as a family live aboard though? I guess we'll find out in a couple of years.

  • Next boat after this one: An Imoca 60 on foils!

  • Lol family sailor.......

  • Omg Sonny and Cher !

    • purchased a runabout this year and is def due to watching you for the last couple years!! Will upgrade to a cat eventualy 🙂 Cheers & safe sailing always!

  • The new boat looks great - well done!
